Many cities in America pay their City Council a salary. The reason is because it costs to serve.

With the prices of goods and services going up a City Council can spend anywhere from $2,000 to $5,000 a year on gas costs alone! They have to drive to get the city in order and many don’t appreciate that. Driving from one meeting to another, to another, to another and then another…. all in a weeks time.

Another reason San Antonio should consider paying a Council person is because it will attract better Candidates. We know some or a couple of Candidates should not be in politics but that is not for me alone to judge. Let us open our minds to paying City Council to attract quality Candidates and help pay for the cost of expense in the day to day operations of our Council. We should stand by our Council so they could best represent our concerns.

We are behind the curve and we need to step up to compete with the Nation. Is San Antonio ready for change?
